Hi mommy Kathy and Mommy Helen,
I just got home from my first puppy match.....I was a show dog. After a little practice I remembered how to move my feet and back up and wag my tail and nibble on food. There were two bigger girl Flatcoats there too....one was in 9 – 12 mos and one was in Open.....but I got most of the ribbons including the one that says BEST OF BREED! I had a great time....I stood on my grooming table and wagged my tail the WHOLE time. I had EVERYTHING trimmed just a little......my ears, feets, nails....tail.....wow...am I ever pretty!
Well back at home...I get to go run in the bush with my big red Uncle Flint and my black brother Quik!

Gaia
On saturday the Eskwinds puppy ( Remus and Ellie-Mae) Gaia made her show debut up in a snowy Aberdeen with a very nervous owner Katherine. This was also Katherine's first venture into the show ring after months of ringcraft . Gaia came 3rd in her class and Katherine was thrilled to bits, so much so a bottle of champagne went back home!!! It sounded very much like Katherine may have caught the bug !!!
Wishing them both all the best xxx

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!!!!
Well 2010 has been and gone and it was a mixture of a year for the Rainesgifts. Showing wise it was a quiet year having not entered many shows due to holidays and other commitments. I haven't managed to get out Picking Up as much as I woud have liked either.
We never managed a girly dog show holiday this year although much fun was had at Gemma Knights Hen weekend and at her marriage to Mr Mark Jacobs .
Having said that Seymour won Best Dog In Show at NEFRA and finally gained his Champion title at Leeds in July.
The Seymour/ Linnet son Rainesgift Hucklebery Finn to Lizzlog JW gained his second Reserve CC and has become a dad twice over.
The Seymour daughter Calswish Rosebud for Lizzlog JW also became a full Champion while her daughter by Remus Lizzlog Laceys Enigma gained her Junior Warrant. Whilst HER brother Lizzlog Double Agent made the trip over from Germany to the shows.
Remus won 2 Reserve CC'S and continued to love his Picking Up. Remus also sired two litters of puppies out in Canada and produced puppies here too.
Luna remained in the cards and on her own planet whilst Clemence spent most of the year out getting her self back into shape after having her two boys "Morgan and Jack" in April.
We very tragically lost Linnet in the summer whilst in Whelp but she still lives on in her daughter Clem and I see little bits of her everyday in Clemence's antics.
Renn managed a couple days out showing winning Best Veteran In show at NEFRA and at nearly 10 in a few weeks she still keeps up with the youngsters.
Berrie will be 13 years in april and is now showing signs of getting older although she still manages to control the toy situation in the house and on a walk.
Maisie damaged her Cruciate ligament badly in the Summer and although she had an operation it was wasn't a huge success but at 12 and a half it still hasn't stopped her !!
I'm not sure what 2011 will hold for us here although I hopefully plan to have a litter from Luna early in the year and Clemence at the back end. But who knows .....
July will see the gang head off to Paris for the World Dog Show and hopefully a trip to the Balegone Estate at the end of the year.
TO ALL THE RAINESGIFTS AND THEIR OFFSPRING AND OWNERS I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST FOR 2011 IN ALL YOUR DOGGY EXPLOITS
