Thankyou Louise
This photo of Remus and Luna was taken by Our Dogs photographer Louise Tope of http://www.dewerstonephotography.co.uk/. Louise and I were penpals when we were 14 years old, Louise worked as a kennelmaid for a G.S.D breeder whilst I worked for Glenis Peach of the Kilbourne Deerhounds. We met up again a few years ago at a show thanks to the internet. Louise now breeds and shows Whippets and I have the black hairy beasties !!! Funny how life turns out!

Crufts 2010 is over for another year
Crufts has been and gone for another year and my feet are still recovering!
Luna went cardless (see photos by Andrew Durrant and Gill Smitherman)
Remus won a second in Graduate Dog behind Braidwyn Bennigan (sired by Seymour)
Seymour was second in Special Working Gundog behind last years Best of Breed winner
Linnet came third in Limit bitch handled by her breeder Thor Jakobsen from Norway. A real treat to watch her handled by Thor and she never seems to forget him!
It has been a hectic week and the last of the visitors has gone today ...but it's been great fun as always to spend time with friends from both here and overseas.
Congratulations to Frank Whyte and all associated with Ballyriver Mackenzie our Best of Breed winner. Fantastic to see him go Group 4 too!!!!

Visit to Brightmoor
Thankyou to Wies Boermans of the Brightmoor Kennel for a lovely weekend in Holland. Jenny Campbell, Hayley Walker and I have spent the weekend cooing over the lovely babies. Their father is the Swedish boy Boltiltorps Reason to Believe (Rio) and their mother is Netherlands Champion Brightmoor Irish mist (Misty).
Misty is a Dutch born girl of English breeding, her mother is Rainesgift Mid Summers Dream bred by me and and exported to Holland in 2002.
The puppies and Wies were visited by the Dutch Kennel Club whilst we were there. The puppies are observed in their enviroment and identichipped by the representative from the Kennel Club. A scheme perhaps we should adopt here in England as maybe some of the more unscrupulous breeders wouldn't be left to continue their ways .....
Wishing Wies, the puppies and their new owners all the very best and I hope the puppies will follow in their parents and grandparents footsteps xx

Making the most of the fantastic weather
Today has been the most beautiful day and we have been out making the most of it. Rosie (Calswish Rosebud) and Finn Rainesgift Hucklebery Finn to Lizzlog have been over and had a great time swimming in the River. Finn has loved playing with his mum Linnet as she likes to play rough too.
Rosie has had a tidy up for Crufts as she has too much hair in the wrong places whilst Finn like his mother Linnet has no hair!!! I have all the dogs in different stages of coat at the moment as our weather has just confused them.
